Shoreline Detail

This week’s Cosmic Photo Challenge is Unusual Tones or Textures.

The morning after the challenge was posted I was down at the Colpoy’s Bay shoreline at sunrise. Despite having checked the weather conditions before heading out there was thick cloud over the area, I couldn’t tell when or where the sun rose over the Niagara Escarpment.

I noticed that the water was an unusual tone, almost mirror like and brighter than I would expect with the heavily overcast sky. It made some of the old wood piles sticking out of the water appear to be floating in the air.

Mirror calm water.

Very nice, David! This is the kind of shoreline rock formation I’m always on the lookout for. Well done!
