I do like the shadows on the snow, and on the tree’s trunk ( what sort of tree is that?) and the barn…. well I like them all. Wonderful selection for the Friendly Friday Photo Challenge. I am so glad you joined in. The long shadows appear to catch your eye. They do make for great photographic content.
Thank you. If I recall correctly the tree is a Maple just coming into leaf. I took the photo yesterday morning for the challenge.
Wow. It must be quite an old one to have a trunk like that. Not too many maples down here in Australia so I am not so familiar with them.
Lots of Maple trees around here. Some are tapped into to harvest the sap for Maple syrup. There’s a Maple leaf on the Canadian flag.
Oh. That kind of maple!! Right. Maple syrup on pancakes type maple. You would be spoilt for choice. The Japanese maple appears quite different to this form.
There’s quite a few species of Maple around a lot of the Northern hemisphere. There’s a few species of Maple around this part of Ontario although the sugar Maple is probably the most common.
Thanks for the info.
Lovely shadows! The Bickerton Hill shot is a dream.
Thanks Leya. The Bickerton Hill shot was one of the most popular on my website when I had an online portfolio.
Ah, I can understand that.
Such a gorgeous collection, all of them so vibrant and alive!
Thank you.
