This is my contribution to the Cosmic Photo Challenge: Eat, Drink and Be Merry.
A story of a Great Blue Heron on the Colpoy’s Bay shoreline, Ontario, Canada. All the photos are of the same bird taken over about 40 minutes although I did shuffle the order they were taken in to fit the challenge.
Eat. The Great Blue Heron has just caught and swallowed a small fish.
Drink. Actually the bird is striking after a fish but they probably swallow water sometimes.
Be Merry. Amusement about the Closed To Fishing sign.

Another superb take on the challenge, lovely shots.
Thanks Dale. Version 2 was a small colony of Black Terns in Saskatchewan but while I had the eating and drinking I didn’t have a very Merry image.
Ah, you should have included them anyway
I wanted to stick with a single species and preferably a single bird which is why I scrapped version two. The annoying thing is that I was sure I had a shot of the Great Blue Heron with a small fish in its bill but couldn’t find it.
Clearly, those birds can’t read the sign.
Or they can and choose to ignore it.
Easily one of my favorite birds in the world. Excellent work, David.
Thank you.
