This is my contribution to the Cosmic Photo Challenge: Street Photography.
Having copied around two thousand slides over the past couple of years I went through my film archives for some street photography. I picked these shots taken at a period fair on the town square in Nantwich, Cheshire, England in the 1980s.
A South Cheshire Pipe Band drummer at the fair.
Emptying the post box on the town square during the fair.
A couple of the stalls at the fair.
Proving that the underwear matches the period costume at the fair.

Perfect selection for a sunny summer’s day, nice one.
Thanks Dale. I was going to title it Square Photography but thought that would cause confusion with people expecting square format photos.
Hahaha, the new name for Instagram
I especially liked the postman picking up the mail.
Thanks Frank. I knew the postman, his name was Norman Bates believe it or not.
You’re kidding with the name, right??? Excellent work, by the way.
No, that was his name, he was my parents postman for years. He was the probably in his 20s or 30s when the Norman Bates character appeared in the movie.
I imagine his life was never the same after that.
I suspect you could be right.
these are really good not least because you got close enough with lots of clarity – the film colour adds that genuine retro dimension
Thanks Laura.
A busy fair! Looks like much excitement as folk buy, sell and haggling.
If I recall correctly I was there fairly early so it probably got busier later.
