Steam Traction Engine Detail.

Throwback Thursday travels back to Cheshire, England in the 1980s.

I had gone to the Cheshire Steam Rally early on Sunday morning. I was one of only a few people there early which meant good access to the machinery on display. I could isolate details and photograph the exhibitors polishing their machines and lighting the fire box.

This is part of the mechanism of one of the steam traction engines, the ornate paint and polished brass caught my eye.

  1. Wonderful shot, David. I love mechanical things. My husband was the cook, I did the repairs. Worked out perfectly for us. I didn’t necessarily like everything going wrong when I was trying to fix something, but I loved the satisfaction afterward of looking at it and knowing that it once again WORKED! 🙂
