Great shot! 🙂 Thanks Tom. If I recall correctly some of the ancient Dragonflies were huge. I’m not sure if the Ferns were also larger but it could make them easier to photograph. A Dragonfly isn’t going to feel threatened if it’s capable of carrying the photographer off. Some dragonflies were nearly 3 feet long. There were a lot of ferns back then. Some consisted of really tall fern trees. I used to collect fossils from the Pennsylvanian Period, and i have a good number of wonderfully fossilized ferns. Yes, I seem to recall hearing about fern trees now you say that. A 3 feet long Dragonfly on a fern trees would throw up all sorts of photographic challenges. Oh, you’ve even managed to capture the ephemeral wings! Well done, David!! Thanks Hannah. Taken on one of my tests of various lenses adapted to a mirrorless camera.
