October Squares: Lines in the Ice

This is my contribution to day 28 of Becky’s October Squares: Lines photo challenge.

Lines in the ice on Colpoy’s Bay at sunrise. The photo was taken on the Colpoy’s Bay shoreline with the Niagara Escarpment providing the horizon line.

    1. Not really. I wouldn’t want to drive on it but I have driven a truck across a frozen lake in Saskatchewan. Some people drive their pick-up trucks out onto the ice to ice fish around here some winters.

      1. There’s probably a calculation to work out how thick the ice has to be to support a certain amount of weight but once the ice gets to be a couple of feet thick you don’t worry about it.
