Oh, David – these are all absolutely beautiful! The Redpoll and the Fieldfare have such clear, beautiful details. (Someday, maybe, I might have learned enough to be able to take wildlife photos that are that clear and in focus.) But my favorite is the Snowy Owl because – well, I love owls, they are difficult to capture on “film,” and the environment he is in perfectly shows how beautiful he is. Beautifully done, David! Thank you for posting these.

Thanks Hannah. Snowy Owls were a bogey species until a few years ago. I had them in Saskatchewan and Ontario but hadn’t even managed to get one in the viewfinder until one spent part of a day on a local side road. It was spring so the bird was heading north for the summer. I suspect it had caught and eaten something as there was patches of blood and mud around the bill.

I’m not sure now I missed this one David, my apologies for the delay.
These are magnificent! I love how you always manage to produce such super images. I love the owl, it has to be my favourite. 🙂

Thanks Sue. I drove past the fence line where I photographed the owl about 20 minutes ago and gave the fields a good scan for another one.
