This is a contribution to Jez Braithwaite’s Water Water Everywhere #15 Photo Challenge and another one of my photos that was taken for the pattern of the ripples on the water.
I probably didn’t need any more photos of an immature Grey Heron on this tree stump in the water at Hurleston Reservoir, southern Cheshire. By the mid 1990s I already had a selection when this shot was taken. I suspect that it was the pattern of the ripples that I was photographing.

Nice!!
Thank you. I’m assuming that I took the photo for the pattern of the ripples because by the time it was taken I had had a photo of a Grey Heron on the tree stump published in a magazine.
Good choice!
You are right! The rippling effect is really well captured David. You did a great job!
Thank you. The pattern reminds me of something, I haven’t worked out what yet.
Haha! Do share once you figure it out! 😁
Will do.
I like the way we can sense implied action in the bird’s posture. The sea looks like some kind of material.
The pattern on the water reminds me of something, I just haven’t worked out what yet.
I can see the movement of the ripples from your shot, David 👏 They are almost mesmerising 😀
Thanks Jez. The pattern/texture reminds me of something, I just can’t work out what.
