Little Quill Lake at sunset, WWE #16

This is my contribution to Jez Braithwaite’s Water Water Everywhere Photo Challenge #16 although in this case the surface water is frozen. You would probably have to cut through a couple of feet of ice to get to liquid water.

Water Water Everywhere Photo Challenge #16

A frozen section of marsh at Little Quill Lake, Saskatchewan, Canada. A few months earlier the area had been a staging area for thousands of Snow Geese on autumn migration.

Thanks Jez. I thought it was an appropriate water image for winter in parts of Canada and it was a break from various bird species surrounded by interesting ripples and reflections.

Thanks Cee. It was a peaceful calm, the nearest human being was many miles away. The only noise was the creaking and groaning of the ice and the whirling of wings as Snow Buntings flew past me to roost in the reeds.
