Cosmic Photo Challenge: Liquids

This is my contribution to the Cosmic Photo Challenge: Liquids.

A Common Swift feeding on insects over the surface of Hurleston Reservoir near Nantwich, Cheshire, England. This is a young bird by the brown body. It was one of around a dozen birds feeding over the water surface.

Half a cup of coffee. This is the third version of half a cup of coffee I have used in blog posts using two different cups of coffee and three different lenses. This version was photographed with the 7artisans 35mm f/1.2 lens.

Cosmic Photo Challenge: Liquids

A Ring-billed Gull feeding in the surf on the Lake Huron shoreline in Southampton, Ontario, Canada. The Ring-billed Gulls will often feed in the surf, either standing on shoreline or patrolling up and down watching for anything edible that gets washed up.

Thanks Dale. It was an interesting challenge trying to get as much variety as possible. As soon as I had posted I was thinking what photos I should have used, colourful ripples at sunrise/sunset and an American White Pelican in frothy, churning water.

I suspect that part of the problem I had with selecting photos was because I’ve been digitizing my slide archives since Christmas so have lots more photos to pick from and they’re fresh in my mind with keywording them.

Well there’s probably at least 12,000 slides and 2,000 black and white negatives that I never had digital versions of.

That’s why it’s taking so long, especially as a lot are natural history subjects so I’m keywording common English names and scientific names.

It was a case of having to as the slides are deteriorating as they haven’t always been stored in ideal conditions during my various moves. I had done a thousand or so key slides over the years but now I want to get them all done before they deteriorate further.

O, man … Niet te geloven zó mooi = beautiful … Onovertroven! Ik heb er géén woorden voor … Sprakeloos … Ja, dan kan je echt wel fotografen … * Amsterdam, 2-3-2020, 15.20 uur … * BAKKIE!
