This is my contribution to the Weekly Prompts Weekend Challenge: Wheels.
Having been digitising my slide archives for a few months I thought about some of the colourful wheels found on old steam traction engines and farm tractors from my years living in Cheshire, England.
Yellow wheels. A traction engine at a steam rally in Cheshire.
Red wheel detail. A steam traction engine wheel at a steam fair.
Orange wheels. A competitor in the Cheshire Ploughing Match in the 1980s.

I love the traction engines, my late husband thoroughly enjoyed going to the rallies.
Thank you for once again taking part in the challenge, David. 🙂
Thanks Sue. Now I have digital copies of all the ploughing match photos I was considering going with different tractors but decided to go with a mix.
It must be time-consuming for you but definitely worthwhile. 🙂
Keywording all the digital copies takes the most time but it’s essential if you want to find something in 10,000+ copies.
I have problems searching a 1000 + I am impressed at your patience!
My entire catalog of digital originals and film copies is over 30,000 so good keywording is vital.
I will remember that tip David thank you
One thing that I have started doing since started blogging more was to also keyword for blog challenges. So I will add extra keywords for colour, season, time of day.
I save my blog photos in monthly folders but that doesn’t help if you are unsure of which month you used them or need them again. Perhaps I should take a leaf out of your book and attempt a more organised filing system! Thank you David.
Anything edited for a blog post goes in a WordPress folder that is sorted by the date the photo was taken. If that folder gets unmanageable I can simply divide up the folder by the decade the photo was taken. Anything edited for a specific challenge gets tagged with the name of the challenge so I can view the tag to see what challenge I used it for.
