On the Hunt for Joy: Switch It Up

This is my contribution to Cee’s On the Hunt for Joy Challenge: Week 14 – Switch It Up.

The first thing that came to mind when I read the prompt was camera bags. Or rather the interiors of various camera bags as I have changed the way they are divided up. As a result one of the bags is a Frankenstein’s monster of a camera bag nicknamed Domkenstein.

My Tenba P595 in the snow in Hatherton, Cheshire, England in 1982. The dividers in the bag will reappear later.

35 years later my Domke F-6 sitting in the autumn leaves on the South Bruce Peninsula. The bag has a Ciesta padded insert divided up with the Ciesta dividers.

A month or so later and my F-6 still has the Ciesta padded insert inside but it’s now divided up with the dividers from my Tenba P595. There’s also a third party memory foam shoulder pad and as a result the bag is now known as Domkenstein.

Especially true in the digital era for me. In the film era I rarely changed equipment but Domkenstein has been reconfigured at least half a dozen times in the past few years.
