Lens-Artists Photo Challenge: Delicate Colours

This is my contribution to the Lens-Artists Photo Challenge: Delicate Colours.

This week’s prompt came from Ann-Christine and was giving me some difficulty. I had a couple of ideas for the challenge, neither of which I was really happy with. Then I realised that the two photos I was thinking of were taken over 40 years apart, one in the 1970s and one in the 2010s.

So I decided to fill in the blank decades with a photo from each decade.

1980s. A male Eurasian Bullfinch feeding on seed heads in a hay field.

1990s. Sandhill Cranes flying to roost at sunset in the autumn.

2000s. Chantry Island and its lighthouse through mist at sunrise.

Thanks Susan. The mist helps with the dreamy aspect. I did briefly consider trying to find a photo with mist for each decade but thought that would be too repetitive.

Thanks Ann-Christine. The Bullfinch is a favourite but I didn’t have a good digital copy until the winter so I was waiting for an opportunity to use it.

Thanks Sue. Unusually, if someone has commented on their favourite I think they have all picked a different photo. Normally there’s one or two more popular than the rest.
