This is my contribution to the Lens-Artists Photo Challenge: A Quiet Moment.
Chantry Island lighthouse at sunset in the winter. No one else was down on the Lake Huron shoreline in Southampton, Ontario given the weather and knee deep snow.
A frozen and partially snow covered slough at sunrise with a weak sun pillar. Photographed on a quiet gravel road near Punnichy, Saskatchewan.
A mist shrouded Colpoy’s Bay at dawn. I was the only person down at that section of the Colpoy’s Bay, Ontario shoreline.
A section of the Last Mountain Lake National Wildlife Area, Saskatchewan at sunset in the autumn. Not another human being for miles.

Wow, David. The light is magnificent and the colors, too. Beautiful.
Thanks Patti. I had quite a few to pick from so I tried for a mix of Saskatchewan and Ontario locations.
Remarkable color captures of the sky.
Thanks Amy. Some of the locations were very remote, the only sound was either the lapping of the water or the creaking of the ice.
Double Wow. Great shots, and so quiet even without self-isolation and distancing. 🙂
Thanks John. A couple were social distancing of 2 miles rather than 2 yards.
Lovely quiet…
Thanks Sue. I’ve spent lots of time in remote locations or before there are people about.
As I used to in my fitter days
Very true. After my various health issues over the past 18 months I’d think twice about driving into a marsh that no one would visit for possibly weeks.
Sensible…
Love the quiet of the dawn mist image David. Lucky you to have it all to yourself
Thanks Tina. The dawn mist is a favourite from last year. The location is currently out of bounds due to the Covid-19 state of emergency.
Bummer. So many sad elements to this thing.
A fabulous series, David! Always love your sets, but the misty one is a favorite!
Thanks Ann-Christine. I had a big selection of early morning’s, late evening’s and remote areas to pick from.
I know – and we never tire of your beauties!
Always love seeing your scenic and quiet moments with your camera. Such amazing and beautiful choices, David. ❤
Thanks Olga. I tried to get a mix of Ontario and Saskatchewan and a mix of mornings and evenings.
