This is my contribution to the Cosmic Photo Challenge: The Rough with the Smooth prompt.
I had no ideas for this prompt until I was thinking about going down to the local bay for the sunrise. Which is when the idea of rough and smooth water occurred to me and at that point two photos were obvious picks for the challenge.
Rough water on the Lake Huron shoreline in Southampton, Ontario at sunrise.
A mirror smooth section of the Last Mountain Lake National Wildlife Area in Saskatchewan at sunset in the autumn.

Fabulous colours in that second shot, just stunning
Thanks Dale. What I find strange is the total absence of wildfowl on that section of the lake. Being autumn there’s probably thousands of ducks and geese in the area.
This is excellent đź’ś
Thank you.
I especially liked the sunset.
Thanks Frank. That’s been a favourite for a long time.
Very pretty! Love the water effect on the first one
Thank you. They’re both favourites of mine but your comment was the first one preferring the first photo.
🙂 It was a tough choice, they’re both amazing.
