This is my contribution to the Lens-Artists Photo Challenge: Under the Sun prompt.
I decided to go with a small selection of photos from this spring and summer when I was testing various lenses in a variety of types of sunlight.
Backlit Maple leaves. Taken with the 7artisans 55mm lens wide open at f/1.4.
A Fern frond in dappled sunlight. Taken with the Kamlan 50mm lens wide open at f/1.1.
Dandelions in the shade with sunlight on the background. Taken with the 7artisans 35mm lens wide open at f/1.2.

Wonderful studies. Thanks for taking us through your photography journey.
Thanks Teresa. It’s an ongoing project, I went for a walk with a couple of different lenses at the weekend.
Good luck and have fun, David!
I love this selection, David. They are beautifully captured. The Dandelions is my favorite. 🙂
Thanks Amy. The Dandelions are over for the year so no more opportunities for photos but I’m still walking past the Maple leaves and ferns so will continue to shoot different versions.
I’m all about that dandelion David. Never could figure out why they are so reviled!!
Thanks Tina. A few Dandelions in the yard has never bothered me.
NICE!!!
Thanks John.
Beautiful. I particularly like the top one.
Thanks Susan. The Dandelions are proving the most popular. No one has picked the fern frond as their favourite but I think it’s my favourite.
You have such a wonderful eye, David. Lovely dappled light.
Thanks Patti. What started as something to photograph on my walks around the neighborhood during the Covid-19 lock down has turned into an interesting project.
It’s challenging to photograph places that you see everyday, but it’s a wonderful creative exercise.
Thanks Patti. It really started a little over a year ago when I got out of rehab after an accident that left me with restricted movement in the right shoulder and a weak right arm. I was going for walks with just a small camera and a small lens.
You made beautiful art out of a tough situation. I admire that.
