This is my contribution to the One Word Sunday: Spiral prompt.
I had a few ideas for the prompt but wasn’t really happy with any of them. Then I thought about the Pine cones I had photographed earlier this year.
If you have never noticed the scales of some cones are in spirals. I don’t know if all species of cone producing trees are the same.

A pine cone works, David. 🙂

Thanks Janet. I wanted to avoid snail shells as I thought a few people would go that way.
And you were right. 😉
So pretty…There is always something about pine cones that remind me of Christmas.
I have seen them used in Christmas decorations.
I used them before as a student on a budget in USA and found them so pretty on my Douglas fir Christmas tree which my Host Father gave me from his garden.
Well done – great to see a different spiral. And I had never noticed that before
Thanks Debbie. I didn’t notice it before last winter when I picked up a handful of Pine cones on one of my walks around the neighborhood.
