A visit to the Colpoy’s Bay shoreline at sunrise last Sunday morning and another photo taken with my fisheye lens.
I parked at the side of the road along the shoreline where the breakwater for Wiarton Marina sticks out into the bay. The breakwater is roughly 90 degrees from the shoreline but the distortion caused by extreme angle of view of the fisheye lens makes it look as if the shoreline and breakwater form a U rather than an L.

A nice view, David. And the perspective explanation is interesting. Apart from the slightly bent trees the wide angle distortion isn’t particularly noticeable – at least, not to those who don’t know the area.
Thanks Debbie. Keeping the horizon close to the center of the frame helps hide the fisheye distortion. Having owned the fisheye lens for a few years now it’s been getting more use recently for some reason.
Love fisheye lens shots, great effect 😃
Thanks Jez. The lens seems to be getting a lot of use recently.
Very nice, David 🙂 🙂
Thanks Jo. I was down there again this morning.
Very pretty, David!
