Focus on the Subject

This is my contribution to the Lens-Artists Photo Challenge: Focus on the Subject prompt.

The prompt started me thinking about some of the times I haven’t focused on what would normally be the subject of focus.

I focused on the Closed to Fishing sign rather than the Great Blue Heron that’s finding the sign so amusing.

Lens-Artists Photo Challenge: Focus on the Subject

This Raccoon wandered into the yard one Saturday afternoon when I was sitting on the deck with a camera. The camera had a fast portrait lens on it, not normally a lens used for wildlife. After taking some conventional portraits of the Raccoon I focused on the front paw trying to make it look wild and ready to attack.

Your first shot reminds me of the times when I either focused on the wrong thing or left the camera home when something wonderful was right there waiting to be captured! Your shot of the raccoon is wonderful! Very fierce.
