Gorgeous image. Thank you. Stunning shot, David 👏 I’ve sometimes found that the dawn is better than the sunrise as well 😀 Thanks Jez. Just recently the clouds and light have been nice at dawn only to fade away as the sun comes up. I’ve often found that a low lying band of cloud obscures sunrise & as you say, the colours & clouds start to fade away as the sun climbs higher. The local bay seems to have quite a few mornings with a low lying band of cloud and also shelf clouds. I do wonder if it’s because it’s on the east side of a peninsula and the change of the atmospheric conditions between water, land and then water again causes the cloud formations. Probably a night time inversion trapping the moisture at low levels; as the sun rises & starts to warm the air above the surface, the inversion breaks & the clouds dissipate.
