This is my contribution to the Weekly Prompts Weekend Challenge: Snippet.
I started thinking about the Covid-19 lockdown in the spring and how I was getting stir crazy by the end of May. I couldn’t get out to any of my sunrise and sunset locations.
So I decided to set up a tripod in the yard and try to photograph a sunset through a gap in the trees.
The sunset fizzled out but rather than pack up the camera and tripod I decided to experiment with the live composite feature of the Olympus camera I was using.

Clouds streaking across the sky at dusk during a live composite long exposure.

nice!
Thanks, glad you liked it.
Oh I do like this snippet. We all find our own way through the lockdowns, but I bet your images are better than most of mine! Thank you David. Hope all is well with you.
Thanks Sue. Currently restricted to home. It started snowing Monday afternoon and hasn’t stopped since then. We’re not going to clear any snow until it stops snowing and the wind dies down. We were up to 12 inches of snow by late afternoon yesterday. I haven’t checked yet this morning as it’s still dark here.
Gosh, David, that is a lot of snow! I don’t blame you for not clearing it, hunker down for a while 🙂
It’s finally stopped snowing and the sun is shining mid morning after 40 hours of snow. There’s about 16 inches of snow on the shed roof which is probably a good guide as it’s sheltered from the wind so no drifting or blowing snow to mess with the depth.
By the way, what time is it now in your part of Canada.
11 a.m.
Five hours behind us. Thank you David.
This is gorgeous!
Thanks, glad you liked it.
This shot is brilliant!
Thanks. It’s what happens when you’re stuck at home not able to visit any of your sunrise and sunset locations.
It sparks more creativity I guess!! 😎
I did spent part of the Covid-19 lockdown experimenting with a variety of techniques.
