Here Comes the Holiday Season

This week Ann-Christine gives up the prompt “And Here Comes the Holiday Season” for the Lens-Artists Photo Challenge.

Given the subdued holiday season a lot of people will be having this year I thought I would look back at previous years.

After a couple of rewrites that theme morphed into this post somehow.

Christmas Day, 2017. Our side road in a snow flurry in the morning. We had another 5 inches of snow after the photo was taken.

David, I love looking back at beautiful Christmas times…a bit sad though. And that snowy picture is so much my childhood days. Nostalgia. Wishing you all the best for a Better New Year!

Thanks Ann-Christine. I remembered the Boxing Day photo and then the Christmas Day photo so a reworking of my theme seemed appropriate. That’s the nice thing about digital, every image has the date and time recorded. I’m sure I have film shots from the holiday season but there’s no way of checking.

Thanks Patti. Having digitised 3 decades of film images it would be nice to know which of those were taken over the holiday season. I know some were but it’s all guesswork. Have a happy and healthy 2021 also.

Thanks Tina. We’ve been alternating between snow and thawing since the beginning of November. It’s looking as if we may have a little bit of snow over Christmas. There’s just patches left from the last snowfall but there’s snow in the forecast for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.

We could have another white Christmas. It’s supposed to start snowing tonight with 2 to 8 inches of snow possible tonight and Christmas Day.
