Hunt’s Locks

Throwback Thursday travels back to the winter of 1979/80 and a walk along a section of the the Weaver Navigation.

These are Hunt’s Locks (or Hunts Locks depending on the reference you use) on the Weaver Navigation in Northwich, Cheshire.

The small lock was built circa. 1860 and the large lock circa. 1890. The Weaver Railway Viaduct that crosses the River Weaver is in the background.

The man-made structures take on a very soft, peaceful look with the beautiful lighting and reflections you’ve captured in the calm still water. And the swan just adds yet another special touch.

This is behind the art school I was attending at the time so presumably I had gone for a walk with the camera to avoid something.
