One of my favourite North American sparrows but a species that rarely keeps still or hangs around for long. This is one of three or four in total I have of the species.

No you say that, very similar to a Goldcrest. The only difference I can think of is that Chipping Sparrows flit between the ground and trees and bushes. The difference between eating seeds and insects I suppose.

They rarely stay in one spot for long. It was probably in a tree or on the other side of the yard a second or two after the photo was taken.
