Blue-Green

This is my contribution to Cee’s Midweek Madness Challenge: Blue-Greens prompt.

I had a couple of ideas for the challenge before thinking of the Common Kingfisher found in Europe and parts of Asia.

The birds plumage varies between blue and green depending on the direction and quality of light falling on it. Here is three photos of the same male photographed at different times and in different light.

CMMC: Blue-Green
Saturday Bird: Common Kingfisher

Thanks Debbie. These are film shots from the early 1990s. It would be nice to repeat them using digital and more modern lenses.

Thanks Cee. I had a few ideas for the challenge before thinking of the Common Kingfisher which seemed to fit the challenge nicely.

I had a portable canvas hide set up for weeks before using it. The kingfisher was using the hide as a perch to fish from before I started using it to photograph the bird.
