This is my contribution to the Cosmic Photo Challenge: First Hints of Spring prompt.
It was snowing hard when Dale posted the prompt so my contribution is from my archives.

Two hints of spring, a male Orange Tip Butterfly feeding on Bluebells in Cheshire, England.

A hint of spring, ice on Lake Huron, Ontario, Canada breaking up during the spring thaw.

A hint of spring, a recently arrived male Yellow-headed Blackbird singing to proclaim his territory in Saskatchewan, Canada.

A hint of spring, a male Common Merganser swimming amongst ice on Lake Huron at Southampton, Ontario, Canada during the spring thaw. The Common Merganser is known as the Goosander in Europe.

Oops, the weather jinx strikes again.
Still, it gave us an opportunity to see some fabulous shots, love the blackbird
Thanks Dale. I posted 5 minutes early, the snow squall watch was upgraded to a warning minutes after I posted.
Nice shots, spring is in the air 🙂
Thanks. Spring may be in the air in the post but we’re still deep in winter at the moment with wind and snow .
Lovely image!
Thanks Sue. Any sign of spring would be nice at the moment. We’re under wind and snow squall warnings and everywhere is a sheet of ice under a layer of snow.
Aaargh
Two of these are full blown shouts of spring.
Thanks Susan. A sign of spring would be nice, we’re under wind and snow squall warnings and there’s a blizzard warning in effect 30 minutes to the south this evening.
