Before the Leaves

This is my contribution to the Cosmic Photo Challenge: Before the Leaves prompt.

I thought about some of my walks around the neighborhood over the past couple of months. The first photo I selected worked nicely as a square crop so I decided to go with all square crops.

Sometimes I use a neutral density filter but in these examples I didn’t need to as it was dull and overcast. I try to avoid using neutral density filters when out for a walk around the neighborhood because I like to keep it simple with just the lens on the camera.

I should add that sometimes in the summer I will slip a polarizing filter in my pocket to cut down on foliage reflections. It can also be used as a weak ND filter.

Thanks Dale. I was thinking of going with two fisheye lens shots and two intentional camera movement shots and now I’m sort of regretting not going with that plan.

I may do. I was thinking about swapping the autumn leaves in snow for a fisheye lens square giving me two and two.

Dear David,
we love your first and last picture with intentional camera movement very much. These slighly abstract graphic effects we like.
