One Word Sunday

This is my contribution to Debbie’s One Word Sunday prompt Spring.

After a few days of spring like weather winter returned last Friday.

However, that hasn’t stopped the summer birds appearing. We had at least half a dozen Dark-eyed Juncos around the yard on Friday.

One Word Sunday: Spring

That makes me smile, David. We have a house finch that often sits on a branch just outside the bedroom window singing his lovely song. Truly makes one rejoice in spring.

We have Sandhill Cranes nesting within earshot so hearing them calling for the first time is one of my signs of spring.

There’s a reasonably healthy population of Sandhill Cranes in this part of Ontario but having lived in Saskatchewan and seen migrating flocks of hundreds of birds it’s not the same.
