Smaller than a Bread Bin

This is my contribution to Cee’s Black and White Photo Challenge: Smaller than a Bread Box or Bread Bin prompt.

The idea for this post came when I was grabbing a camera bag out of the closet.

Back in 2017 I was looking for a smaller camera bag to carry a back to basics kit. A DSLR and three (later four) manual focus prime lenses. This is my Domke F-6 containing my back to basics kit amongst autumn leaves on the South Bruce Peninsula.

In the spring of 2019 I fell off a ladder and messed up my right shoulder. I now needed a smaller and lighter kit. This is my Domke F-5XB hanging from a tripod on the Colpoy’s Bay shoreline at sunrise. The bag contains a small mirrorless camera body and three small manual focus prime lenses.

My liking for the Domke F-5XB didn’t last long, the zip closure and lack of a decent sized pocket quickly annoyed me. So I swapped the F-5XB for a Domke F-10 JD seen here in the studio. It contains the same mirrorless camera kit plus spare batteries, memory cards, neutral density filters and one of my quick connect camera straps in the front pocket.

I’m still using the Domke F-10 JD for my small, lightweight kit of three manual focus prime lenses and small mirrorless camera. Here it’s hanging from a tripod on the Colpoy’s Bay shoreline at sunrise. That’s snow and ice on the shoreline.
