Eastgate

This is my contribution to Cee’s Midweek Madness Challenge: April letter E at the beginning or ending of a word prompt.

When I read the prompt I came up with a good word that started and ended with E. I didn’t make a note of it and can’t remember what it was so this is my fall back post.

Looking down Eastgate Street in the city of Chester. In the distance is the Eastgate with the Eastgate Clock on top of the gate. The east gate was the original eastern entrance to the Roman fortress Deva Victrix that became Chester.

The gate has been rebuilt multiple times, the current gate dates from 1768.
