Focusing on the Details

This week Patti has given us the prompt Focusing on the Details for the Lens-Artists Photo Challenge.

As Ontario is currently under the third Covid-19 lockdown I decided to look back at some of the details I photographed on my walks around the neighborhood while under the various lockdowns.

Silent Sunday: 3rd May 2020
Moss and lichen on a limestone boulder photographed during the first Covid-19 lockdown.
Cosmic Photo Challenge: Midsummer
Backlit Maple leaves photographed during the first Covid-19 lockdown.
Monochrome Monday: 1st March 2021
Shadows on rippled snow photographed during the second Covid-19 lockdown.
CFFC: Texture

Thanks John. I was photographing moss and lichen before the pandemic but I’ve been doing more with being in lockdown and stuck walking around the neighbourhood.

Thanks Sue. It was a good challenge for me given that I’ve been photographing lots of details on my walks during the various lockdowns.

I see we have been thinking along similar lines today! Love the green leaves too. Sorry you are in lockdown three but hope it will keep you safe. I have a feeling my current interest in lichens has something to do with being confined to the local area for so long.

I know that I have been photographing more lichens and other details since being restricted to walks around the neighborhood on and off for the past 14 months.

You’re wise to use your creative talents during quarantine. It will give you a mental break from the tedium!! And your photos are wonderful, as always. I love the shadows on the snow and the backlit maple leaves. Beautiful. Take care and I hope the situation improves as quickly as possible.

Yes, I tend to go a little stir crazy being under lockdown and a stay-at-home-order. Getting out for a walk with the camera gets my eyes and brain working.

Our second lockdown in the winter was the worst because i was severely limited to where I could walk due to the snow.

This lockdown includes a stay-at-home-order but a lot of people are ignoring it and travelling to their weekend places regardless.
