Some of you may remember that there was a solar eclipse visible in parts of the northern hemisphere a week ago.
In this part of Ontario the sun would be partially in eclipse at sunrise. The forecast was looking good with clear skies so I got up in the middle of the night and headed down to the Government Dock in the village of Colpoy’s Bay. I knew that at this time of year the sun would be rising over the mouth of the bay.
When I got down to the bay I discovered a thick band of cloud on the horizon. With no sign of the eclipse I swapped to a wider lens for a view of the bay with the sun hidden behind the cloud.
