2021: Spot the Spider

Spot the White Crab Spider waiting to ambush any unsuspecting insect that lands on the Coneflower (Echinacea).

Taken on a recent walk testing the TTArtisan 50mm lens at f/1.2 for photographing flowers and plants.

I love these spiders – none have appeared on my cosmos this year, I think the monsoon weather we are experiencing this year has frightened them away from the cosmos

It’s strange how some species seem to go in cycles. In the mid and late 2000s I used to see praying mantis regularly but it’s probably a decade since I saw one. These white crab spiders seem to havr appeared a few years ago. I’m surprised that they can survive our winters.
