One Word Sunday: Closed

An Oriental Poppy flower bud in a garden at Hatherton near Nantwich in southern Cheshire, England.

An early experiment with motion blur from my archives taken in the mid 1980s. Part of a submission to greetings card and calendar publishers.

This is my contribution to Debbie’s One Word Sunday: Closed prompt.

A beauty, and I like the very gentle motion blur, David.
I haven’t played with that for a while but have to give a presentation on it in a few weeks so must get out and produce some new work

Thanks Debbie. In a way I found it easier to do motion blur with slow film although you never knew what you had got until the film came back from the lab. Nowadays I end up messing around with neutral density filters to get the shutter speed I need.

Thanks Janet. My original plan for the prompt was the Highway Closed signs where they’ve dug up the highway through our nearest town. That plan was abandoned when I thought of this photo.
