October Squares: Past Squares

Flying In Front Of Blue

An Osprey with a freshly caught White Sucker on the Lake Huron shoreline in Southampton, Ontario shortly after sunrise in spring. A lucky photo, I had gone down to the shoreline for the sunrise and decided to hang around for a while to check out what summer birds had arrived.

A look back at some of my personal favorite square photos from previous months of squares. Some were popular, some not so popular at the time.

This was a post in Blue Squares Month and is my day 2 contribution to Becky’s October Squares on the theme of Past Squares.

One thing that works for me is that I created a category called “A Month of Squares” and can view all posts in the category. It makes it a little easier to know where to search for the original square.

It seems to always be there when I go to the insert media block. It’s one of the few new WordPress features that’s actually useful. They’ve now broken bulk edit for mass deleting spam for me.

Grrrrr 😦

the thing that keeps catching me out is that every now and again, well daily now, it suddenly reverts to classic views. So confuses me

It seems to work differently between browsers. Although WordPress have broken the bulk edit option for mass deleting spam on every browser I have tried so at least they break stuff consistently.

Thanks Sue. My original reply seems to have disappeared. I had gone down to the lake shore for the sunrise but decided to hang around for a while and see if there was any summer migrants about. I certainly wasn’t expecting an Osprey to be fishing just offshore.

Thanks, glad you liked it. The Osprey didn’t have a good meal. It’s actually looking at two Herring Gulls that were harassing it trying to get the fish. A few seconds after the photo was taken the bird dropped the fish on the shoreline and flew off. One of the Herring Gulls picked at the fish briefly before losing interest and flying off.
