This is my contribution to Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge: Urban Erosion prompt.
One subject came to mind as soon as I started considering the prompt.
This is the abandoned grocery store in the town of Wiarton on the South Bruce Peninsula, Ontario. It has been standing empty for years and has become one of the more impressive eyesores around town. The roof was leaking badly when it was still in use so the interior could easily be in worse shape than the exterior.
This is my contribution to Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge: Bridges prompt.
As the prompt is plural I decided to go with two very different bridges about 20 miles apart in Cheshire, England.
Canal lift bridge in the village of Wrenbury, Cheshire. When a canal boat comes along the bridge is raised using a winch. The bridge was designed by the Scottish civil engineer Thomas Telford in the 1790s.
The Weaver Railway Viaduct in Northwich, Cheshire. Technically this is a viaduct but the two steel sections in the center are bridges over the River Weaver and the Weaver Navigation. Also, one of the stone arches is a road bridge over London Road, Northwich. Edited to give the image a grungy, aged look.
I had a couple of ideas for the challenge before thinking of my photo of the track invasion at the end of the Le Mans 24 hour motorcycle race. I edited all the digital copies of the slides recently which is probably why it came to mind.
Being ignored by Team Bike and the French race officials during a dawn pit stop.
Being ignored by thousands of fans as they invade the start/finish straight at the end of the race.
