Wide Angle Perspective 4

This is my day 31 contribution to Becky’s July Squares on the theme of Perspective and the last of my wide angle perspective series.

It’s been interesting picking squares and putting together series for the month. A big thank you to Becky for running the challenge with such a wide ranging theme.

I started the month with a monochrome photo of these wood piles so I thought I would end the month with a different photo using a different camera and lens combo plus it’s in colour this time.

It’s still not obvious that the grass behind the wood piles is only a few inches below the top of them and that they’re holding back almost two feet of dirt and rocks.

Portrait of a Coneflower

This is my day 30 contribution to Becky’s July Squares on the theme of Perspective and another of my portraits of flowers taken with unusual lenses.

A Coneflower photographed with another fast lens although this time more of a general purpose lens than a portrait lens.

Telephoto Perspective 4

This is my day 29 contribution to Becky’s July Squares on the theme of Perspective and another of my telephoto perspective series.

Some interesting clouds over Colpoy’s Bay at sunrise isolated with a telephoto lens. Prior to the Covid-19 pandemic one of my sunrise locations was on a busy route for commercial aircraft.

Some mornings it was possible to count 5 or 6 aircraft in the sky. If they were leaving contrails one option was to isolate the more interesting clouds with a telephoto.

Eye Level with a Redwing

This is my day 28 contribution to Becky’s July Squares on the theme of Perspective and another of my eye level perspective photos.

This one is a little different than a lot of my eye level perspective series for July Squares. Rather than lying down, sometimes in something nasty, I am standing in a bedroom taking photographs out of the bedroom window.

This is a Redwing, a member of the Thrush family and a native of Europe and the Palearctic feeding on a Holly berry in a Hatherton, Cheshire garden in the winter.

Wide Angle Perspective 3

This is my day 27 contribution to Becky’s July Squares on the theme of Perspective and another of my wide angle perspective series.

Looking up at a giant red butterfly garden ornament with a wide angle lens. I like the contrast between the red butterfly and blue sky.

Telephoto Perspective 3

This is my day 26 contribution to Becky’s July Squares on the theme of Perspective and the third of my telephoto perspective series.

Looking Down on Silver Birch trees in snow from the top of Bickerton Hill in southern Cheshire, England. I was isolating interesting sections of the trees with a telephoto lens.

Portrait of an Orange Daylily

This is my day 25 contribution to Becky’s July Squares on the theme of Perspective.

An Orange Daylily photographed with a fast portrait lens to give a different perspective with very shallow depth of field on the flower.
