Walking in the ditch.

A shot from a walk in the last week of 2018. At one point I was considering it for the last week of my 52 week photo project but went with a different shot in the end.

I’ve been meaning to post this shot since then but never got round to it. Then the new Weekly Prompt Photo Challenge was Walking and thought it was rather appropriate.

This was the third or fourth time I had photographed these seed heads, I find theirĀ  structure and shape interesting. They’re down in a ditch which can make access to them difficult depending on how much snow and ice there is in the ditch.

The current Weekly Prompt photo challenge is Green.

Some winters in Ontario we don’t see very much green. This winter we’ve had a few mild spells and thaws so we’ve seen more green than is typical.

I went for a walk with the camera after a thaw during the first week of 2019. One of the shots I took was of a tree trunk with Ivy and Lichen growing on it. At the time I was struck by various colours in the Ivy leaves and different groups of Lichens.
