Lichen Detail

This is my contribution to Cee’s Midweek Madness Challenge: April Close Up or Macro prompt.

I was considering one of the recent close ups of lichen on tree bark I had taken on a recent walk. As a result I decided to look back at some of my lichen photos taken on various walks in winter. Some of which were taken with unusual lenses such as a CCTV lens adapted to a mirrorless camera.

Soft

This week Ann-Christine gives us the prompt Soft for the Lens-Artists Photo Challenge.

My first thought was of some of the photos I had taken last year when I was experimenting with photographing flowers and plants with various unusual lenses. Mostly fast portrait lenses but also some CCTV lenses adapted to a mirrorless camera.

A New Lens

This is my contribution to Nancy’s A Photo a Week Challenge: Something New prompt.

This is my latest unusual lens. A tiny 25mm CCTV lens adapted to a mirrorless camera. I purchased it to replace one that the focusing mechanism keeps jamming on.

Photographed using a cheap 35mm CCTV lens adapted to a mirrorless camera. I used my new LED studio lights with a red filter on one of the lights.

Jujubes

This is my contribution to Cee’s Midweek Madness Challenge: January Close Up or Macro.

Jujubes (or Ju-jubes or JuJubes, take your pick) photographed with a cheap 35mm CCTV lens adapted to a mirrorless camera. An experiment that didn’t really work out as expected. The lens doesn’t seem to produce the swirly, streaking corners and edges when close focused.

Autumn Maple Leaves

This is my contribution to Cee’s Midweek Madness Challenge: Macro or close up prompt.

Three Maple leaves in the autumn photographed with a cheap 35mm f/1.7 CCTV lens adapted to a mirrorless camera. I rather like the strange swirly background the lens can produce at times.

Taken on one of my walks around the neighborhood with an unusual lens on the camera.

Ivy in soft afternoon light

This Ivy growing up a tree trunk on the South Bruce Peninsula is a regular subject on my walks around the neighborhood.

Taken on a recent walk when I had a cheap 35mm CCTV lens adapted to the mirrorless camera I was using. I rather like the soft, slightly swirly edges of the frame the lens produces.
