This is my contribution to the A Photo a Week Challenge: Communication.
I thought about how quickly the smartphone has taken over as a means of communication, not just phone calls but texting and email.
Then I spotted a payphone and thought about how they had almost disappeared.
Edited to give the photo the look of an old film shot.
This is my very sideways look at the Tuesday Photo Challenge – Fantasy.
I was having a problem coming up with an idea for the challenge until I watched a rerun of an episode of The Big Bang Theory. The characters were playing a fantasy game featuring various odd creatures.
This ice covered bush on the Colpoy’s Bay shoreline at sunrise reminds me of some sea creature, a squid or octopus possibly. Possibly it’s a Triffid. Or maybe it’s a Kraken.

This is my contribution to the Weekly Prompts Photo Challenge: Crystal.
I had a couple of ideas for the challenge until heading down to the Colpoy’s Bay shoreline for the sunrise on Sunday morning. I found a bush on the shoreline with some interesting ice formations on it.
I spent more time photographing the ice formations than I did the sunrise. The ice formations are created by waves splashing on the bush and freezing.
Here I started isolating interesting sections with a telephoto lens.
