On the Hunt for Joy: Make Your Own Rainbow

This is my contribution to Cee’s On the Hunt for Joy Challenge: Make Your Own Rainbow.

I had a couple of ideas for the challenge, neither of which worked out.

Then I remembered photographing a section of sidewalk some bored child had coloured in with chalk. I had photographed it last summer where the local town held a weekly farmers market. I assumed that the bored child of one of the stallholders had coloured the sidewalk in.

So I decided to do some heavy editing using Photoshop and then Snapseed to get a couple of different versions of the coloured sidewalk.

On Top of Santa’s Stables

This is my day 25 contribution to Becky’s April Square Tops photo challenge.

It was supposed to be my day 24 contribution but shortly after posting day 23 I ended up in the local E.R. before being admitted to hospital. I am posting this from my hospital room.  As the various doctors seem to be playing a guessing game as to why my heart is racing and my list of symptoms is growing with the time I spend in hospital I’m not expecting to be out anytime soon.

As a result my posts will become erratic until I am discharged from the hospital.

On the Hunt for Joy: Change Your Lightbulbs

This is my contribution to Cee’s On the Hunt for Joy Challenge: Week 15 – Change Your Lightbulbs.

I seem to have photographed a variety of electronic light sources over the past few months so here’s a small selection.

A Photo a Week Challenge: Light the Night

This is my contribution to Nancy’s A Photo a Week Challenge: Light the Night.

When I read the prompt a photo from late last year came to mind, a twilight street scene with a crescent moon in the sky. The moon in that photo made me think of some of my other photos featuring the moon so here’s a small selection.

January Squares: Green-light

This is my day 24 contribution to Becky’s January Squares: Light photo challenge and although it’s hyphenated it isn’t one of my made up hyphenated words.

To green-ligh means giving something the go ahead. Most commonly used in T.V. and film production it comes from green traffic lights giving vehicles the go ahead. This green-light is on the junction of Berford Street and William Street in Wiarton on the South Bruce Peninsula, Ontario, Canada.

Weekly Prompts: The Street

This is my contribution to the Weekly Prompts: The Street challenge.

It occurred to me when I was considering the prompt that I seem to have taken photos on the main street in the local town quite a few times since last summer. As a result I decided to go with a selection of shots taken on Berford Street in Wiarton on the South Bruce Peninsula, Ontario, Canada.

Looking north early on a Sunday morning in the summer. Berford Street is actually Highway 6 that heads up to Tobermory at the tip of the Bruce Peninsula. It’s normally busy with tourists in the summer as there’s a ferry across Lake Huron that sails from Tobermory.

The Pacific Hotel on the corner of Berford Street and William Street in the autumn. The slightly run down appearance of the buildings and the storm clouds sum up my feelings for the town at times.

Finally, looking south down the street at the various Christmas lights in December. I thought the wet highway reflecting the lights added to the scene.

Tuesday Photo Challenge – Portal

This is my contribution to the Tuesday Photo Challenge – Portal.

One portal came to mind as soon as I read the prompt. I’ve posted about this wooden structure on Berford Street in the town Wiarton on the South Bruce Peninsula previously. I still have no idea what it is supposed to be or represent.
