Fishing in the mist at sun Up.
Photographed from the Government Dock in the village of Colpoy’s Bay on the South Bruce Peninsula, Ontario shortly after sunrise in summer.
A look back at some of my personal favorite square photos from previous months of squares. Some were popular, some not so popular at the time.
This was a post in Up Squares Month and is my day 13 contribution to Becky’s October Squares on the theme of Past Squares.
Golden light on a section of the Niagara Escarpment shortly after sunrise last Sunday.

Light trails from fishing boats on Colpoy’s Bay at dawn. Most of the fishing boats on the bay are probably competing in an annual end of summer fishing derby.
The sun rising over the Niagara Escarpment on the other side of Colpoy’s Bay. Around the summer solstice the sun rises over the mouth of the bay. As the days shorten and autumn approaches the sun starts rising progressively more to the south.
Light trails around Colpoy’s Bay and the Niagara Escarpment on the South Bruce Peninsula, Ontario at dawn recently.
A two or three minute live composite exposure to record the light trails and some movement in the clouds.
The main light trail is a vehicle on Mallory Beach Road. There’s also a fishing boat moving along the eastern side of the bay and another fishing boat in front of White Cloud Island.

After November like weather last Thursday and Friday including snow in places there wasn’t much sign of summer when Dale posted the prompt. Then we had a frost yesterday morning when I went down to Colpoy’s Bay at dawn.
A boat tied up to the Government Dock in the village of Colpoy’s Bay on the South Bruce Peninsula at dawn. The water in the bay is still very cold but there’s a few boats out on the water. There will be more in the summer once the water warms up.
An old barn in golden light shortly after sunrise. The grass in the foreground has to grow considerably before it’s ready to cut for hay in the summer. There was frost on the grass in places when I took the photo yesterday morning.
