This is my contribution to the A Photo a Week Challenge: Tower prompt.
I had several ideas for a post with three or four different towers in mind. Each had some interesting detail and history but I couldn’t find a way of tying any of them together.
So I decided to pick just one. One that is no longer a tower although you can tell it used to be one.
This is the Church of St Editha in Church Eaton, Staffordshire, England. The church is largely 12th century. Originally built with a tower, the tower was later modified to add a spire.
