Old barn in the evening

Having failed to get out for a sunrise in week 30 I took to some local back roads for the sunset mid week.

Despite some nice colour in the clouds to the west it was this old barn to the east that first caught my attention with the soft, evening light on it.

Raindrop In The Rain

Monochrome Monday goes all the way back to yesterday. I had set up a camera in the yard to photograph the birds and it started raining soon after I set up. The bird’s weren’t cooperating so I started shooting raindrops.

I spotted the lone raindrop on the end of a branch with rain falling around it and took a variety of shots with the plan of a monochrome conversion.

Ripples In Greyscale

Monochrome Monday goes all the way back to last Saturday morning and a visit to a fog shrouded Lake Huron. There was some nice ripples on what water was visible in the fog.

This is a monochrome conversion although there was hardly any colour in the original.

Squirrel in dappled sunlight

Saturday morning of week 27 saw me lying in the yard with some nice dappled sunlight on the grass.

Abandoned Crofters Cottage

Monochrome Monday is going back to 1980 when four photography students traveled to the Isle of Skye on the west coast of Scotland.

I added grain to the digital version to give it a more gritty feel. It shows an abandoned crofters cottage at Elgol with the mist and cloud shrouded Cuillin in the background across Loch Scavaig.

Black and White Between Grey

Saturday morning of week 26 saw me down at the Lake Huron shoreline. It was difficult to tell where the water stopped and the clouds started at times. The previous time I was down there it was like that.

So for Monochrome Monday I compared the two sets of photos to check which had the most interesting cloud formations for a monochrome conversion.
