On the Hunt for Joy: Make Your Own Rainbow

This is my contribution to Cee’s On the Hunt for Joy Challenge: Make Your Own Rainbow.

I had a couple of ideas for the challenge, neither of which worked out.

Then I remembered photographing a section of sidewalk some bored child had coloured in with chalk. I had photographed it last summer where the local town held a weekly farmers market. I assumed that the bored child of one of the stallholders had coloured the sidewalk in.

So I decided to do some heavy editing using Photoshop and then Snapseed to get a couple of different versions of the coloured sidewalk.

On the Hunt for Joy: Colour Code

This contribution to Cee’s On the Hunt for Joy Challenge: Colour Code isn’t really about the prompt. I was considering a couple of ideas for the challenge when I remembered these photos.

Some of my regular readers may remember me saying that I ran the photo department of a medical research establishment in the early/mid 1980s. These are photographs of a model of the Influenza virus produced for the cover of a book on influenza research.

Friendly Friday: Alternative Version

This is my contribution to the Friendly Friday Photo Challenge: Alternative Version.

The prompt got me thinking about some of the photos I have taken when I gave an editor alternative versions. That made me think of one shoot in particular.

In the early 1980s I developed a process that allowed me to produce false colour photos from a monochrome original. Somehow the editor of a book on Influenza research saw some of these and commissioned me to produce one for the book cover.

This is one of the false colour versions I produced from a monochrome original.
