Patchwork

The first thing that came to mind when I read the prompt for One Word Sunday: Patchwork was fields seen from above.

My home county, Cheshire in England, is quite flat but there is a large sandstone ridge sticking out of the Cheshire plain. The tops of some of the hills forming the ridge allow you to look down onto some of the farmland of the Cheshire plain.

Tuesday Photo Challenge – Glow

The rising sun makes the patches of mist amongst the trees and bushes in a hay field glow.

This is my contribution to the Tuesday Photo Challenge – Glow.

Week 27. Mist at sunrise.

Saturday morning of week 27 saw me down at Colpoy’s Bay for a disappointing sunrise. Once the sun was above the horizon I headed home the long way. The plan was to check the fields for birds and wildlife. The first field I checked had some mist in places over the vegetation.

The field used to be grazed by cattle but it’s been a couple of years since I last saw any in there. As a result the vegetation is quite high and the low sun was illuminating it nicely between the patches of mist.
