Friendly Friday: Art Unexpected

When I read the Friendly Friday Photo Challenge: Art Unexpected prompt I had several ideas for a post. On Friday evening I was selecting photos for the idea I was going with.

Luckily I hadn’t started editing those photos because on Saturday morning I changed my plans for this post. Then, when the first photo l picked for the new version was square I decided that all the photos should be square.

A selection of photos of unexpected art in nature.

Lens-Artists Photo Challenge: Delicate

My contribution to the Lens-Artists Photo Challenge Delicate.

I had a few ideas for the challenge before deciding to go with a variety of images that I would describe as delicate in some way.  Two of the shots are from the 52 week photo project that I did last year while another dates back to 1987.

Throwback Thursday

Foxtail Barley detail.

Throwback Thursday travels back to Saskatchewan in the late 1990s with a close up of the heads of some Foxtail Barley. Taken on a section of the Little Quill Lake shoreline near Wadena, Saskatchewan.

Alternative common English names are Bobtail Barley and Squirreltail Barley. Although it is native to North American it is regarded as a weed and an invasive species by some people.
