CFFC: Roofs of Any Kind

Two photos came to mind when I read the prompt for Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge: Roofs of Any Kind.

So here’s the two roof photos taken around 40 years apart.

Raindrops on a car roof photographed in the late 1970s. I know the approximate date because it’s the car my father had when I was in art school.

Black and White Bicycles

When I read the prompt for Cee’s Black and White Photo Challenge: Bicycles, Tricycles, Motorcycles and Unicycles I had several ideas for a post.

Having photographed various forms of motorcycle racing in the 1970s and 1980s I had hundreds of black and white photos to pick from. So, of course, I decided to go with monochrome versions of two photos featuring bicycles from last summer.

Lens-Artists Photo Challenge: Countryside and/or Small Towns

This is my contribution to the Lens-Artists Photo Challenge: Countryside and/or Small Towns.

When I first moved to southern Ontario 19 years ago I lived in a small town for 8 years before moving to the countryside.

This is a section of High Street, Southampton, Ontario early on a Saturday morning. I lived a few yards off High Street for around 7 years.

This is my contribution to the Cosmic Photo Challenge: Architecture Digestif.

Another small town in Ontario, Canada. This is the old grocery store in Wiarton on the South Bruce Peninsula. Replaced by a new store on the other side of the town it’s been standing empty for years becoming a bigger eyesore by the month. You would think a town trying to attract more tourists would do something about it.

Friendly Friday: Ignored.

This is my contribution to the Friendly Friday Photo Challenge: Ignored.

My first thought was of some of the wildlife species that have ignored me when I was photographing them. I thought that idea was to obvious so I watched out for things that are ignored while wandering around Southampton, Ontario, Canada early on Saturday morning.

That was when I noticed people that are probably ignored by a lot of people. Most visitors to the town will never think about people emptying the garbage cans and watering the flower displays.

First there was a council worker emptying the garbage cans on High Street in Southampton.
