Lens-Artists Photo Challenge: Simplicity

When I read the prompt for the Lens-Artists Photo Challenge: Simplicity I had a few ideas for the challenge.

Before I had even started narrowing the ideas down we lost our internet connection for the second time in less than a week. So I forgot about the prompt not knowing when we would be back online.

When I came back to the prompt I ignored my previous ideas after thinking about simplifying some of my camera kit. An accident a year ago left me with restricted movement in the right shoulder and a weaker right arm and I needed a smaller, lighter kit for my personal work.

So here’s a small selection of photos from the last 10 months taken locally with a small mirrorless camera and three manual focus prime lenses. If I’m going for a walk around the neighborhood I pick a lens and find images with it. If I’m going somewhere in the car I take a small bag with a mirrorless camera, wide angle, standard and telephoto lenses.

Weekly Prompts: Something New

For 2020 the Weekly Prompts Photo and Word Challenges have been merged into one, the first being Something New.

The something new for me was a different camera last year. As a long time Olympus user I picked up a small, mirrorless Sony to continue my experimentation and testing of various lenses adapted to a mirrorless camera.

I’m rather enjoying the camera to the point that if it wasn’t for the bag full of very good Olympus lenses that won’t adapt I would be using it almost exclusively.

Tuesday Photo Challenge – Fantasy

This is my very sideways look at the Tuesday Photo Challenge – Fantasy.

I was having a problem coming up with an idea for the challenge until I watched a rerun of an episode of The Big Bang Theory. The characters were playing a fantasy game featuring various odd creatures.

This ice covered bush on the Colpoy’s Bay shoreline at sunrise reminds me of some sea creature, a squid or octopus possibly. Possibly it’s a Triffid. Or maybe it’s a Kraken.
